Project 2

Module 2

1. How did you engage with the project theme?
Discovering different sounds that are interesting, also taking pictures that matches with the sounds. After discovering the sounds, I started to discover the interactions that are suitable to the sounds that I recorded and how I can create the interaction, it can be pressing the key, following the mouse, or clicking the mouse to make the interactions between people and website created. I chose five sounds and discovered different ways of having the interactions, this can be my research process of how I can create my final design.

2. What was successful?
Creating suitable interaction with different sounds and discovering different types of interactions that can be created for this project, this can help me to have a better understanding for this project and having a better idea of what I can create for my final website. From this process, I learned that pressing key, following mouse, and clicking mouse are all types of interactions that can be used for the final website.

3. What was challenging?
Understanding how the interactions can be worked and how to add sound into the code to they can interact with the sounds, it was also hard to create new code for different interactions when having no idea about what can be done for this project. It was also hard to discover how to create a suitable code of interaction for each sound added. Sometimes it is also hard to find out new types of interactions that can be used for this project, because all of the interactions look similar within the sound chosen.

4. How did you explore the lecture content?
From the lecture, I learned about the sound art and how this type of art is worked, based on this content I understood the relationship that sound and art can have, they should be relating to each other to make them look matching. Moreover, I also watched many tutorials provided by class to know what I can make as my final project and how to edit the code to make them looking interesting with sound interactions.

Activity 1

Sound of school's corridor Sound of people stepping on snow Sound of hitting a trash can Sound of poeple screaming in concert Sound of sitting on the train Sound of waiting a train Sound of paper bag Sound of walking on stairs Sound of using the snowplow Sound of using keyboard Sound of using mouse Sound of opening and closing airpods Sound of using a spray Sound of using drawer Sound of using pen and paper Sound of getting a new cleaning towel Sound of using tap water sound of drinking water Sound of using a zipper on the bag Sound of turning on and off the light switch Sound of opening or closing a lipstick Sound that is made on my house's car Sound of using hair clamp Sound of opening a letter Sound of shaking a medicine bottle

Project 2

Final Project 2 Design

P5 Interactive Audio Web Header Portfolio

1. How did you engage with the project theme?
I engaged with the project theme by designing an interactive music experience that allows users to interact with songs through sound waves, particles, and the song that I've added in. The goal was to enhance the listening experience by making it more immersive, creating both auditory and visual elements that respond dynamically to user input.

2. What was successful?
The circular equalizer and horizontal sound wave worked effectively to represent different sound inputs, this helps with the user's connection with the music. The pressable keys was also successful which allows users to trigger with instruments sounds and some visual effects that will respond to sounds added.

3. What was challenging?
There were errors everytime I editted the code, such as circular equalizer wasn't interacting with the main song, or some interactions starting to disappear because of some wrong edit on code. Balancing when elements appear was also challenging, to make sure shockwaves appear before clicking "Ready", while other elements appear after. In addition, To ensure that all the visual effects are responded accurately and fluidly without lag was also another problem when writing this code.

4. How did you explore the lecture content?
I learned more about visual art and sound art, this can help me to have better understanding and having more innovations on this project that I'll be doing. For example, finding out the suitable visualization of sounds that can be added for different types of sound, methods that can be used to create interactions between visual effects and audios. Also saw some examples online can help me to innovate and have new ideas of what I can make at the end.

5. How does this website summarize your work go beyond activities 1&2?
From this website, I didn't use the sounds that I added in activity 1, but this helped me to have new ideas of the theme that I can do and the sounds that I can find using different methods. Activity 2 helped more about what I can make for the final website and all the interactions that I can add into this website, the interactions that I added are pressing different keys and following the mouse, I believe this will make my final design more interesting. This project combines all the researches and discoveries through activities 1 and 2, it is helpful and gave me lots of ideas of what I can make.
